The collision took place in Greenwich around 9:30 p.m., Sunday, March 31 at the intersection of King Street at Glenville Street.
According to Capt. John Slusarz of the Greenwich Police, first responders at the scene found an unresponsive driver inside the vehicle who was transported to an area hospital for immediate medical treatment.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling north on King Street and for an unknown reason it left the roadway and struck a stone wall on the northeast corner of the intersection, Slusarz said.
At this time investigators believe that a medical episode may have been a contributing factor to the crash.
The roadway was closed for several hours for a crash investigation but has since been reopened.
The Greenwich Police Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the collision.
The name of the driver was not released.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any information is asked to call Traffic Sgt. JD Smith or Traffic Technician Roger Drenth at 203-622-8014 or 203-622-8015.
